Faber-Castell Fine Art Competition

Faber-Castell began in the year 1761 and in 2011, they are celebrating their 250th Anniversary. This is a unique celebration as this makes Faber-Castell one of the world's oldest enterprises still in the hands of its founding family. Faber-Castell is now in the eighth generation of the von Faber-Castell family.

This year, Faber-Castell introduced The Art & Graphic Collection. This extraordinary set is limited to 1,761 sets worldwide with only two in Ireland. I was honoured to be chosen as the Irish overall winner of the Faber-Castell 250th Anniversary Fine Art competition and presented with one of these sets.

The award presentation was held in The Art & Hobby Shop in Santry, Dublin on August 12th 2011, where my winning painting was displayed for a week previous to the presentation. Following this, my picture will travel to Stein, Germany, where it will be displayed with winners from each country at the Faber-Castell Castle, before making its permanent home at Faber-Castell Ireland, in Fermoy Co.Cork.
